COED - Armor of Hope (Doorn)

When: Sunday, Evening

leader photo

Hello I am Charlene…. I am a wife, mother and grandmother who works full time, who loves to cook, craft and work in the yard who happen to be diagnosed with cancer in May of 2016. After endless hours of tears and wondering what my future would hold, a very dear Christian friend of mine reminded me that no matter what fears and apprehensions I had, at this very moment Jesus is walking along side with me and he will not abandon me. Wow! What a mind-blowing reminder. From that day forward, I knew I couldn't waste this season of my life, as a result, Armor of Hope, living with cancer group was formed. Living with cancer, whether newly diagnosed, incurable or in remission brings to light many raw moments you never expected to face with many tough questions and a new appreciation for every new day. Armor of Hope came from Ephesians 6:10-20 where God calls us to put on the full armor of God. This passage equips us to live every day with cancer rather crawl in dark room and live in fear. It is a time for fellowship, encouragement, and…. did I mention I love to cook? I encourage every cancer survivor to attend our group on the 1st and 3rd Sunday from 6:00-7:30 at the FSC West location.

Meets at FSCWest on the 1st & 3rd Sunday's of the month at 6:00pm with leader Charlene Doorn.

COED - Better Together (Culver)

When: Sunday, Evening

Gabe - I have been through a lot in my life, I was a man of lawlessness, addiction, and I was goalless. Through hardship, and growth in my relationship with Christ I have developed goals and structure. My beautiful wife has always been my strong back when I didn't have one. I believe I have purpose and direction with my relationship with Christ. I am far from perfect and love to be challenged.

Amanda - I have always struggled with self-worth. Abuse, neglect and Co-dependency were the rulers of most of my life. My relationship with the Lord became more real during those hard times. I still struggle with self reliance but I'm also still being led to grace and an always sufficient love that I haven't found anywhere else except in Him. Being a wife, mom and Christ-follower, I want to see the freedom in others lives from any sin, abuse, or other struggles that can only come from knowing Jesus. I've seen what God can do! Making the impossible...possible.

Meets Sundays at FSC West with Leaders Gabe and Amanda Culver @ 6pm.

COED - Better Together (Murphy)

When: Sunday, Evening

I am Tabatha—a working momma, community advocate, music enthusiast, book nerd and believer. I love coffee with my oxygen, tacos every day, dance parties with my kids, and helping hurting people find hope again. I lost my first son as a baby and spent many years stuck in the traps and lies of grief—but through Jesus' grace and hope and the power of connection through groups have learned to use that pain to help my family and others find joy again. One of the greatest lessons I have learned in my journey is the power of real connection and community. Life has given all of us difficult trials that leave many scars, but I have found that our decision to be vulnerable and real about our struggles with each other is where we can find the greatest healing. As a recovering perfectionist and relentless people-pleaser, it has been in the connection with others and their real and messy stories with Jesus where I have found freedom. My prayer for all groups is that we learn to live with and love each other with the same grace Jesus gave me. **Childcare is available for a fee ($2/kid per night)

Never have the headlines been this jarring, the cultural changes this rapid, or the moral decay this pronounced. What on earth is happening? Few would dispute that the pace at which things are currently changing is unprecedented. Caiti - Hey there, I'm so glad you're here! I'm Caiti and some of my roles are as wife to my best friend, mother to three of the coolest souls, lover of adventure, and beloved daughter. I've spent most of my life feeling uncomfortable in my own skin, leading me to fight for my acceptance and to use food and exercise as comforts. Jesus has taken my bloodied, broken heart and has asked me to find my value in Him. I believe by boldly loving ourselves and others we can find wellness - mind, body, and soul.

Jamie - - I am a wife and mother of 3. After being away from church for about 10 years, I found my way back to Jesus. For the last 3 years I have been getting more involved and really starting to dig into what the bible has to teach and offer in my life. I look forward to the way God will use me to help others with their walk in faith.

Meets Sundays at FSC West with Leader Caiti Spiess @ 6pm.

WOMEN Single Mom's - (Buell)

leader photo REMARKABLE FAITH tells the stories of people whose faith was of such quality that Jesus himself marveled at it-people who were broken, needy, and dependent. These eight inspiring vignettes weave history, theology, and fictional detail into their biblical accounts to bring relief and a new perspective to those whose faith feels unremarkable. Written to encourage and relieve discouraged Christians who wonder if their faith is a disappointment to God, this book will demonstrate that remarkable faith-the kind Jesus marveled about-isn't about achieving or performing. Readers will discover they can exchange their performance-based evaluation of their faith with a fresh, life-giving intimacy with the Jesus who delights in transforming inadequacies into irrepressible affection.
