Hello I am Charlene…. I am a wife, mother and grandmother who works full time, who loves to cook, craft and work in the yard who happen to be diagnosed with cancer in May of 2016. After endless hours of tears and wondering what my future would hold, a very dear Christian friend of mine reminded me that no matter what fears and apprehensions I had, at this very moment Jesus is walking along side with me and he will not abandon me. Wow! What a mind-blowing reminder. From that day forward, I knew I couldn't waste this season of my life, as a result, Armor of Hope, living with cancer group was formed. Living with cancer, whether newly diagnosed, incurable or in remission brings to light many raw moments you never expected to face with many tough questions and a new appreciation for every new day. Armor of Hope came from Ephesians 6:10-20 where God calls us to put on the full armor of God. This passage equips us to live every day with cancer rather crawl in dark room and live in fear. It is a time for fellowship, encouragement, and…. did I mention I love to cook? I encourage every cancer survivor to attend our group on the 1st and 3rd Sunday from 6:00-7:30 at the FSC West location. Meets at FSCWest on the 1st & 3rd Sunday's of the month at 6:00pm with leader Charlene Doorn.
